Jane Wells Moses, retired nurse

December 10, 2012

Jane I. (Wells) Moses, 84, of Long Neck, passed away peacefully Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at her residence surrounded by her loving family after a nine month battle with lung cancer.  She was born Oct. 22, 1928, in Burlington, N.J., daughter of the late Christopher and Dorance (Clarkson) Wells.

Mrs. Moses was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was very proud of her nursing degree given that she returned to school in her 50s. She retired from St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, and from the offices of various doctors.  She volunteered at Christiana Hospital and Beebe Medical Center, spreading joy wherever she went. She loved the beach and moved to Rehoboth Beach after her retirement.   She loved going to the Harrington casino and embroidering; her family will cherish her many works of art.  She was also an 18-year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.  She thoroughly enjoyed life with her family as her main focus.  She always went above and beyond creating many special moments with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael D. Moses; and brother Clifford Wells. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Oliver C. Moses; son, Thomas O. Moses and wife Ilana of Davie, Fla.; daughter Lisa K. Henson and husband Dennis of Townsend; six grandchildren;  and four great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Heaven, Katie and John from Delaware Hospice and all of those who kept the family in their prayers.

All services will be private.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
