Jack R. Alloway, retired investigator

Jack R. Alloway, 90, husband of the late Natalie (nee Soltner) and Ruth (nee Shuster) went to be with the Lord at his daughter’s home in Virginia Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012.

He was born in Blackwood, N.J., son of Harry B. and Irene V. (nee Raughley).  He is survived by his daughters Susan A. Stow and her husband Edward of Meherrin, Va., Julie A. Neitzke and her husband Kent of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; stepdaughter Karen Ritchie of Meredith, N.H.; granddaughters Melanie Pittard of Washington, D.C., Lauren Adamo of East Brunswick, N.J; grandson Justin Neitzke of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; and four great-grandchildren.

He served as a navigator on a B-17 Flying Fortress plane during World War II. He was a professor at the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and Science following his military service. He later retired from his work as an insurance investigator at the Equifax Corporation in Haddonfield, N.J. He greatly enjoyed his retirement years at his much loved home in Pot-Nets Bayside, Millsboro. His retirement was happily spent traveling, fishing, golfing and reading.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service at 11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4th, at Long Neck United Methodist Church, 32051 Long Neck Road, Millsboro. Interment will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the American Legion Post 28, 31768 Legion Road, Millsboro, DE. 19966.
