Cape's girl swimmers sink Sussex Tech 106-64

Ravens defeat Vikings 88-82 on boys' side

The Cape girls' swim team remained undefeated with a 106-64 home win over the Sussex Tech Ravens Dec. 13

Cape individual winners were Sarah Koon, 50-meter freestyle, 28.31 seconds; Colleen Bailey, 500 freestyle, 6:20.0; Kaitlin Philcox, 100 backstroke, 1:10.14; Devon Warner, 100 breaststroke 1:20.80.

Cape's 200 medley relay of Phicox, Bailey, Grace Brokaw and Koon also placed first in 2:07.32; the 200 freestyle relay of Koon, Romy Stancofski, Brokaw and Hannah Schrock won in 1:53.15; and the  400 freestyle relay of Stancofski, Bailey, Philcox and Schrock won in 4:22.75.

Brianna Hall of the Ravens won the 200 individual medley in 2:31.03 and the 100 freestyle in 1:04.33.

Jessica Fulmer of the Ravens won the 200 freestyle in 2:14.0 and the 100 butterfly in 1:08.91.

The Sussex Tech boys' swim team beat Cape 88-82.  The Ravens' B.J. Daisey won the 200 individual medley in 2:10. 21 and 500 freestyle in 5:26.93.

Gary Venables won the 50 freestyle in 23.32 seconds and Jacob Procino won the 100 freestyle in 54.28.

Cape individual winners were Jack Weeks in the 200 freestyle in 56.6 and 100 butterfly in 56.67.  Luke DiGuglielmo won the 100 backstroke in 1:04.8, and Charlie Burton captured the 100 breaststroke in 1:08.0.

Sussex Tech won all three relays including the 200 medley relay of Jacob Procino, Daisey, Mike Dopler and Gary Venables in 1:43.98, the 200 free relay of Procino, Ryan Seely, Venables and Tim Bada in 1:35.73 and the 400 free relay of Ryan Taylor, Dopler, Daisey and Jacob Tull in 3:42.40.

Cape’s boys and girls will host Dover at the Rehoboth Y Thursday, Dec. 20. The Ravens swim against Indian River Tuesday, Dec. 18 at the Howard T. Ennis School in Georgetown.
