David M. Ondish, Aetna employee
David M. Ondish, 57, of Rehoboth Beach, and formerly of Downingtown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Neighborhood Hospice of West Chester. He was the beloved husband of Susan Sowieralski Ondish, with whom he shared 35 years of marriage.
Born in Dover, he was the son of Florence Biezup Ondish of Dover, and the late Andrew Ondish.
He was a 1973 graduate of Holy Cross High School in Dover and received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Delaware in 1980. He was formerly employed as director of finance with Aetna Healthcare.
David was a long time member of St. Joseph’s Church in Downingtown before moving to Delaware. He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his children, Sean and wife Christa, of Conshohocken, Pa., David Jr., Michael and finacée, Alexis Valentino, and Lauren Ondish, all of West Chester. He is also survived by his brother, Andrew and wife, Patricia, of Elkton, Md.; sisters, Debra Semple and husband, Jaime, of Felton, Cheryl Cherney and husband, Larry, of East Windsor, N.J., Marilyn Malaer and husband, Bryan, of Lockhart, Texas, and Patricia Triviets of Bear; and by a host of brothers-in-law, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 21, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20, at the James J. Terry Funeral Home, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown. Interment will be at All Souls Cemetery in Coatesville, Pa.
