Margaret M. Meyer, dedicated matriarch

Margaret M. Meyer, 78, passed away Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at her home in Lewes. She was born in Jersey City, N.J., Dec. 3, 1934, daughter of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Nies) Caulfield.

Mrs. Meyer loved to crochet and made many beautiful projects.  She was a lecturer for the Weight Watchers organization and enjoyed the thrill of lottery scratch-off tickets.  Mrs. Meyer was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Meyer was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, John E. Meyer (September 2012), and her son Joseph Meyer (2006). She is survived by her three sons:  John E. Meyer of Toms River, N.J., James Meyer and wife Lynn of Reedsville, N.C., and Jarrett Meyer of Salisbury, N.C.; two daughters: Nanette Randles of Chesapeake, Va. and Genevieve Unger and her husband Shannon of Whiting, N.J.; 14 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, John C. Caulfield of Baltimore, Md.; and two sisters: Eileen Jeffas of Jersey City, N.J. and Ronnie Cacacie and husband Tom of Warren Grove, N.J.

Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 28, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Entombment will be at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Lung Association, 1021 Gilpin Ave., Wilmington, DE 19801.
