George Barton Wall Jr., retired car dealer

George Barton Wall Jr., 87 of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Thursday Dec. 20, 2012, at the Lake Wales Medical Center in Lake Wales, Fla. Mr. Wall was born in Cambridge, Md., son of the late George B. Wall Sr. and Beulah Ruark Wall. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by two stepsons, Marion P. Rose and Donnie Niksich; his sister Julia Bryan; and one nephew.

For his entire working life George primarily worked as a car dealer beginning in the 1940s. He formerly owned and operated the Lancaster Auto Auction for 20 years as well as many other auto sales lots. He also was the former owner and operator of the Lewes Theater in Lewes for many years.

He was a member and past president of the Rehoboth Beach Lions Club; an Army veteran of World War II and was a member and for many years head usher at Epworth United Methodist Church. Mr. Wall enjoyed collecting cars, raising his goats and his extensive collection of model trains was a sight to behold.

He is survived by his wife, Rose E. Miller Wall; one son George Barton Wall III and his wife Wendy of Lewes; daughter Georgiana Ibach of Rehoboth Beach; three stepdaughters, Connie Kasten of Vero Beach, Fla., Evelyn Fraley and her husband Steven of Warsaw, Ind., and Judy Renken of Rehoboth Beach; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four nephews; and one niece.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday Dec. 28, at Epworth United Methodist Church, 19285 Holland Glade Road, Rehoboth Beach, where viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.
