Maude A. Daniels, poultry retiree

Maude A. Daniels, 78, of Frankford, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012.

Maude was born May 29, 1934, in Frankford, to the late George and Stella Short.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one sister and several brothers.

She worked for Eagle Poultry and Allen’s.  She was a wonderful, but straightforward woman who would clearly “tell you like it is.”   She loved sitting at the kitchen table, her soap operas and gospel music.  She was devoted to her family and will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, John R. Daniels of Frankford; a nephew who she raised as a son, David Short and his wife Valerie of Fruitland, Md.; daughter, Joyce Daniels of Hartly; a son, Danny Daniels of Virginia Beach, Va.; a sister, Amanda Drake of Philadelphia, Pa.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends.

A funeral service will be at held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 27, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior. Pastor Shirley Williams will officiate. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery, Millsboro.
