Giant Food donates $1.25 million to Kimmel Cancer Center

Giant Food of Landover, Md. Manager of Public and Community Relations Jamie Miller, right, presents a check for $1.25 million to the Pediatric Oncology Division at the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center as a result of the neighborhood grocer’s 2012 Triple Winner program. On hand to accept the donation are Dr. Donald Small, director of pediatric oncology, and Stephanie Davis, Kimmel Cancer Center senior associate director of development. Since its start in 2005, Giant’s Triple Winner program has raised $11.5 million for pediatric cancer research. Giant Food LLC operates 170 supermarkets in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware and the District of Columbia, and employs approximately 22,000 associates.
