Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce announces new executive director

The Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce announces the appointment of David Martin as its new executive director.

The recent vice president of the Arts Center of Coastal Carolina on Hilton Head Island, S.C., Martin is an entrepreneurial, creative and member-oriented executive with proven relationship-building skills and marketing success in hospitality, tourism and event planning. He has an accomplished record of productive organizational skills, financial planning and team-building talent, which will strengthen the growing and service-oriented chamber.

Other notable experiences in Martin’s career include positions as executive director and chief development officer of the Arthritis Foundation’s Mid-Atlantic region. He also served as a cruise director with Holland America Line, directing onboard events, marketing, revenue and promotional activities internationally.

Starting out as president and general manager of CAE Entertainment & Events in Pittsburgh, Pa., he coordinated and managed festivals for the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park and functioned as the first director of game-day entertainment for the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“A chamber can be the focal point in an active business community,” Martin said. “To come to an area my wife and I know and love and build beneficial partnerships that grow business for chamber members is truly exciting.”

Martin offers much in terms of experience in developing marketing and branding strategies, promoting organizations and business partners to local residents and visitors, and has been successful in working with local, state and federal government officials.
