January 14, 2013

The sixth annual Sussex Go Red For Women Luncheon and Fashion Show held at Baywood Greens in Long Neck in September, with a sold-out crowd of approximately 240 men and women, produced $8,700, the highest donation to date to the Southern Delaware American Heart Association. The event featured  lunch, Mario Rocco entertainment, a silent and Chinese auction, health screenings and a fashion show with a wide range of local fashions.

The keynote speaker, Heather Raff, MD, of Cardiovascular Consultants of Southern Delaware in Lewes, spoke about the risks women all share relative to the proper diagnosis and treatment of heart disease and stroke.

The event co-chairs, Patricia Sandy and Donna Streletzky, representing Beebe Medical Center, the presenting sponsor, presented a check to the American Heart Association’s Stephanie Rhoads and Karen Gritton in the amount of $8,700. This generous donation will be recognized at the Southern Delaware Go Red For Women Luncheon Friday, Feb. 8, in Dover. This event is organized by the local community to benefit the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women mission in Delaware.
