Reese E. Wilson, lifetime farmer

Reese E. Wilson, 72, of Lewes, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.

Reese was born in Milford, son of the late Edwin and Mary (Dorman) Wilson.

Reese was a lifetime farmer and lover of the outdoors. He sold seed corn and soybeans for Fuzion Seed Company. In addition to farming, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, boating and antique tractors, especially his John Deere Model B.

He was an active member of Henlopen Grange No. 20 and member of Eastern Shore Thresherman’s Association; he enjoyed attending and showing his restored John Deere Model B at their yearly reunions.

Reese had worked as a lieutenant with First State Security for the North Shores and Henlopen Acres communities. Several years ago he had worked for Bennett Security and worked security at NCR and Allen Foods.

He was an active member of Midway Assembly of God, serving on the church board and in many capacities over the years.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years: Charlotte (Hellens) Wilson; two children: Brian R. Wilson and wife Miriam, and Sharon L. Wilson-Pyle and husband Matt, all of Lewes; two grandchildren: Hayley and Tyler Wilson; a brother: William F. Wilson and wife Florence, of West Chester, Pa.; and two nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, with visitation after 1 p.m. Burial will be in Conley’s Chapel Cemetery.
