Lewes man charged in Angola burglaries

Delaware State Police arrested a Lewes man Jan. 2 in connection with several burglaries in the Angola area this summer.

Police went to Gerald Paulley Jr.'s home Jan. 2 in regard to a couple of capiases, said Cpl. Gary Fournier of the Delaware State Police.

When police arrived, Paulley, 43, ran out of his home and was captured nearby, Fournier said.

Through an investigation, police linked Paulley to eight burglaries in the Angola Crest I Mobile Home Park over the summer.

Fournier said Paulley targeted unoccupied homes and took fishing poles, electronic devices and liquor.

Paulley was charged with eight counts of second-degree burglary, three counts third-degree burglary, seven counts possession of burglary tools, 10 counts theft, eight counts second-degree conspiracy and eight counts criminal mischief.

Paulley was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $15,250 secured bond.
