John F. Fiorentino Jr., custom tile worker

John F. Fiorentino Jr., 84, passed away Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, at his residence in Lewes, surrounded by his loving family. He was born Nov. 25, 1928, in Wilmington, son of the late John Francis Fiorentino Sr. and Mary (Chiavarini) Fiorentino.

John attended Archmere Academy and proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy.  John was well known for his artistic talent in custom tile work and flooring.  He was a faithful member of American Legion Post 17 and the Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge of Lewes.  He was the youngest of five children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Josephine A. Fiorentino in 2008.  He is survived by his eight children: Janet Conigliaro, Judith Gladnick, Joy Downey, John Fiorentino Jr., Joseph Fiorentino, Jacqueline Neal, Jennifer Fiorentino and Jeri Timmons; 17 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home beginning at 10 a.m.  Interment will be private.
