A Millsboro man faces charges Jan. 5 after agents say he mixed a grain alcohol concoction at his home and sold it.
Agents with the Division of Alcohol and Tobacco Enforcement obtained a sample of the liquor prompting the investigation, said Kimberly Chandler, spokeswoman for the Department of Safety and Homeland Security.
Agents arrested Reese A. Carey, 35, while he sold some of his grain alcohol mixture in the Delmar area; they found 16 quart jars and three pint jars of the alcohol mixture in his car, she said.
At Reese's home on Bethel Road, agents found large quantities of grain alcohol that they say Reese bought and mixed with other ingredients before selling it.
Agents charged Carey with selling alcohol without a license, attempt to evade tax, illegal transportation of alcohol and keeping alcohol in a residence with intent to sell. He was released on $8,000 unsecured bond.
