Carl Michael Spincic, proud Knight

Carl Michael Spincic, 82, of Wilmington, formerly of Chester, Pa., died at his home Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Carl graduated from Chester High School and Pennsylvania Military College. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW. He was also proud to be a member of the Knights of Columbus. Carl was a buyer for Boeing Helicopters and Stauffer Chemical Company.

Carl enjoyed cooking and baking, country and classical music and dancing. He especially enjoyed singing and playing guitar at family gatherings. He had his own band, The Three Cards, in which he played accordion. He liked to play bridge and deal poker games for the Knights of Columbus. He was active in local theatre, performing in many productions. He enjoyed watching old movies. He was an avid Phillies fan and well as an Eagles and U of D football fan. Carl loved animals.

Carl is predeceased by his parents, Dinko and Mildred Spincic. He will be dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Lucy Ann (Papi); daughter Toni Lynn Willett and husband Michael, son Carl Jr., and daughter Lisa and her fiancé, Patrick Caffey, all of Wilmington. He adored his two grandsons, who were his best pals, Christopher (Angelina) of Rehoboth Beach and Michael of Wilmington. He is also survived by his brothers, Frank (Ruth) of Paoli, Pa., and Allen (Suzanne) of Dennisville, N.J.; and several nieces and a nephew.

A committal service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Road, Bear.
