Harry L. Daisey Jr., retired tugboat engineer

Harry L. Daisey Jr., 87 of Frankford, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes.

Harry was born in Philadelphia, Pa., July 26, 1925, son of the late Harry L. and Mary (Vickers) Daisey Sr. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Merchant Marines. Harry retired as a chief tugboat engineer. Mr. Daisey was a charter member of the East Sussex Moose Lodge 2542 in Roxana and a member of American Legion Post 24 in Dagsboro.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jerileane Daisey in 2003; a daughter, Sue McCabe and a brother Alfred Daisey. He is survived by his wife, Toni Daisey; a son, Bobby Daisey and his wife Dorothy; a brother, Gene Daisey and his wife Faye; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family and friends.

A private graveside service will be held at the Daisey family cemetery in Bayard.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Harry’s name to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
