Cape JROTC cadets visit Harbor Healthcare & Rehabilitation facility

January 26, 2013

This year, as in previous years, the cadets of the Cape Henlopen High School JROTC conducted a visitation to the Harbor Healthcare Rehabilitation Clinic in Lewes on Christmas Day.  On this very special occasion, 25 Cape Henlopen Army JROTC cadets visited with all of the healthcare residents and staff to deliver Christmas cards and dispense some holiday cheer to the residents. They were joined in their visit by Lewes residents Bob and Lis Haggett representing the Holiday Project of the National Capitol Area, and Janet and Jeff Cordiano of VolunteerMatch.

Cadet Major Sylvester Lovett, cadet coordinator, said, “The holiday season can be both the happiest and the loneliest of times, especially for our fellow citizens who are away from their family, and by doing this project, we are bringing some joy to those who are most in need of joy on Christmas Day."

The Cape Henlopen JROTC cadets who participated in the visit were Colby Garbutt, Kristina Grasch, Tori Handlin, Lexi Atsidis, Katelyn Schneider, Breanna Batter, Allie Mueller, Zach Mueller, Austin Hughes, Carlissa Friend, Dean Hysock, Olivia Baratto, Josh Steiner, Josh Betts, Teague Elliott, Jack Ragone, Sylvester Lovett, Austin Kitchen, Joe Torres, Nick Swiderski, Eric Miller and Alex Dominick.
