Greg Kodjanian, dedicated hairstylist

Greg Kodjanian, 72, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at his residence following a courageous 10-month battle with liver cancer; his life partner Charles was by his side.  He was born in Khartoum, Sudan Oct. 8, 1940, son of the late Ohannes  and Vartouhi (Ohanessian) Kodjanian.

Mr. Kodjanian enjoyed a 42-year career working as a hairstylist at Elle et Lui Salon in Vienna, Va. He relocated to the beach in 2007; three years ago, he joined the staff at CK’s Hairport in Lewes where he worked until one week prior to his death.  Greg was a dedicated employee who was passionate about the business; he was always on top of the latest styles, products and cosmetology advances.  Greg was also passionate about animals especially his two cats, Leila and Ashraf.  He strongly supported PETA and the local Humane Society.  First and foremost, he was a loving partner, brother and uncle who took great pleasure in attending cultural events, going out on the town and reading.

He is survived by his loving partner of 35 years, Charles Rorbach; his brother Suny Kodjanian of Olney, Md.; his niece Karina Stouffer and husband Mike of Olney; his nephew Erik Kodjanian and wife Alida of Germantown, Md.; great-nephews: Conrad and Alexander Kodjanian both of Germantown; and great nieces: Abbigail and Caroline Kodjanian.

A celebration of Greg’s life will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
