Cape High : Girls arrested following fight

January 23, 2013

Delaware State Police continue to investigate a series of fights at Cape Henlopen High School Jan. 23 that police say primarily involved five girls.

There were a few fights involving the same five girls, said Cpl. Gary Fournier, Delaware State Police spokesman.

Cape Henlopen School District Director of Curriculum and Instruction Michael Kelley said there were three fights. Two girls were charged with disorderly conduct following a morning fight. More arrests are possible following the investigation, he said.

The girls and an undetermined number of students who were involved in the fights were suspended pending a district hearing, Kelley said.

"I walked around the school this morning, and it was quiet as a church," Kelley said.
