Capital Region Bridal Showcase set for Feb. 17 in Dover
The Delaware Capital Region Bridal Showcase, set for Sunday, Feb. 17, at the Hilton Garden Inn in Dover, invites all brides to enjoy local experts who are ready to assist in planning that special day. The event is free for brides, $5 general admission for preregistered guests and $10 for guests at the door.
“This is our third annual bridal showcase in Kent County,” said Charles Gray, director of sales at Kent County Tourism and showcase coordinator. “And we are pleased to let prospective brides know we are completely sold out of exhibitor space, guaranteeing them an audience with the best local bridal shops, caterers, cake designers, venues and more.”

Highlights of the event will include a designer cake competition where brides will sample the cakes and select two winners with $700 in cash prizes; food samplings, including a sweet treat from the Sheraton Dover Hotel, appetizers from the Hilton Garden Inn, wedding cake samples, and a food demonstration and tasting presented by Harrington Raceway & Casino; strolling fashion shows by The Wedding Boutique of Dover, The Bridal Boutique of Milford, Brides 2 Be by Hope Mitchell of Lewes and the new Men’s Wearhouse of Dover; a Pinterest contest featuring a $325 grand prize; and door prizes valued at more than $2,000.
