Cancer Support Community to offer Creating a Healing Journal Feb. 11

January 30, 2013

Research has revealed that venting one’s feelings in writing can boost the immune system.

Presenters Karen Barwick and Beth Joselow will offer a two-part expressive arts workshop, Creating a Healing Journal, at noon, Monday, Feb. 11. This workshop will guide people affected by cancer in creating their own handmade journals and learning how to use them in the healing process.

Participants should bring a copy of a favorite poem, meaningful images, pictures, items from nature and other decorative items to incorporate into their journals. No artistic experience is necessary.

This program is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts, a state agency dedicated to nurturing and supporting the arts in Delaware, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.

For more information or to register call 302-645-9150. Cancer Support Community-Delaware is in the Medical Arts Building, Suite 312 at the Beebe Health Campus on John J. Williams Highway north of Rehoboth Beach. All classes at CSC are offered to people affected by cancer and their loved ones free of charge.
