Long & Foster’s Bethany Beach office posted $234 million in sales volume in 2012, an increase of 26 percent compared to total sales volume in 2011, according to Dottie Wells, the office’s manager. Long & Foster Real Estate Inc. is the largest independent residential real estate company in the United States.
“In 2012, our sales associates sold a total of 556 properties that generated a dollar volume of $234 million. In addition to representing a 26 percent increase in sales volume compared to 2011, the Bethany Beach office also ranked 26th in highest sales out of Long & Foster’s 170 offices,” said Wells.
“In addition, our office also ranked first in volume in the areas it serves, including Bethany Beach, Ocean View, Fenwick Island, Selbyville, Sussex County,” she said.
Wells attributes much of the office’s success in 2012 to a steadily recovering housing market combined with the reputation for high quality and professional service the Long & Foster brand carries.
In addition to helping buyers and sellers throughout 2012, Wells said staff and sales associates in the Bethany Beach office continued their long history of giving back to the communities they serve.
“Consumers in our area recognize that Long & Foster sales associates and staff believe in the importance and power of community service and what giving back to others means, and I think that recognition helps to keeps us in the front of people’s minds when it comes to buying or selling a home,” said Wells.
The community service activities the Bethany Beach office sponsored or participated in during 2012 included a benefit silent auction and dinner at The Cottage Café to raise money for the Lower Sussex Little League and a Realtor Auction to raise money for Sussex County families in need, providing five elementary school children with Christmas presents that they would not have had, and continuing to be a sponsor of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.
