Stella Powell Boyer, Seawatch employee

Stella Delores Snead Powell Boyer of Milton, was born Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1948, in Exmore, Va., the "baby girl" of the late William and Gladys Snead. Stella had four brothers and one sister. She departed this life Friday, Jan. 25, 2013.

She graduated from Overbrook Regional High School in Philadelphia, Pa.

Stella has four sons, Melvin, Joseph, Robert and James (Punk); and one daughter, Lois.

She had been married to James H. Boyer Jr. for 45 years. She always seemed to "light up" when James was near.

She was employed by Seawatch in Milford as a supervisor for many years. She learned the Spanish language as a result. Stella loved fishing, eating crabs, barbecueing, and she loved to work. She was very happy, never down, and always uplifted others. She was a strong person who never let her condition get her down.

"Mother Boyer" attended  Heaven's Gate Ministry for several years and joined April 8, 2011.

Stella leaves to mourn her loss, her devoted husband James H. Boyer Jr. of

Milton; four sons, Melvin Powell of Rochelle, Ga., Joseph Powell of Long Neck, Robert Powell of Milford and James "Punk" Boyer of Coolspring; one daughter, Lois Tunnell of Milton; one stepdaughter, Toni Andrews of Wilmington; one brother, Andrew Snead of Houston; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, Johnnie Boyer of Lincoln and David Coston of Philadelphia; several sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 2, at Bennie Smith Funeral Home, 219 S. Washington St., Millsboro.
