February 5, 2013

The Tanger Outlet Center in Rehoboth Beach raised and is donating $40,167.49 for the battle against breast cancer.  Tanger made its local donation to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition during a special ceremony held Jan. 30 at Tanger.

“Tanger is committed to supporting breast cancer research,” said Steven B. Tanger, president and CEO for Tanger Factory Outlet Centers Inc.  “I am proud of our Tanger team members in Rehoboth Beach for their continued hard work in fighting breast cancer, and I thank our shoppers for supporting Tanger’s mission to find a cure for this terrible disease.  We are especially proud of our partnership with the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition, which is the only organization in the state of Delaware focused solely on breast health issues as they affect the women and men who live in Delaware.”

Tanger’s 2012 PinkSTYLE Campaign ran Sept. 12 -Oct. 25 with funds being raised through the sale of the TangerSTYLE Pink Card.  For a $1 donation to local breast cancer beneficiaries, Tanger customers received a special pink card that provided 25 percent bonus savings at participating Tanger Outlet stores.

With its primary mission to help save lives, Tanger’s Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign creates awareness for the importance of early detection and helps raise the money necessary to support ongoing breast cancer research.  Tanger’s campaign also helps fund many important programs and facilities designed to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients. Since 1994, Tanger has donated more than $11 million to fight breast cancer nationally.

The Tanger Outlet Center in Rehoboth Beach features over 130 brand name and designer outlet stores in three separate shopping centers within a 2-mile stretch along Route One near Rehoboth Beach.
