Leona 'Lee' Macrane, devout Christian

Leona “Lee” Macrane, 76, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, with her husband at her side at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Tuesday, Oct. 13, 1936, daughter of the late Lloyd and Margarite (Melson) Wilkinson.

Lee was a devout Christian and a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Milton. She attended the BSF Bible Study each Thursday in Milford. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and hosted a stitch and chat in her home each month. Prior to her move in 1997 from Cinnaminson, N.J. to Sussex County, Lee was a Sunday school teacher and member of Christ Episcopal Church in Riverton, N.J. She was a past matron of the Eastern Star in Palmyra, N.J. She was also a den mother in the Cub Scouts. She was an avid reader and enjoyed doing cross stitching, making gifts for friends and church bazaars. Lee loved animals; she always had a pet.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert “Bob” D. Macrane of Milton; a son Robert Scott Macrane and his wife Joan of Medford, N.J.; three granddaughters: Catherine “CJ” Macrane, Elizabeth Macrane and Jennifer Curcio; a sister Frances Chaput of Inman, S.C.; and her miniature poodle Molly whom she adored.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to St. John’s Milton or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
