Marietta 'Lolee' Cassese, longtime beautician

Marietta "Lolee" A. Cassese, 71, of Lewes, formerly of Bergen County, N.J., passed away peacefully Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was born in Union City, N.J., July 20, 1941, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine (Le Bert de Bar) Russo.

Mrs. Cassese was a longtime beautician who worked for funeral homes all over Bergen and Hudson counties, New Jersey; she did a great deal of work for the McCorey Funeral Home in Cliffside Park, N.J. Mrs. Cassese, along with her beloved husband, relocated to the Delaware beaches following her retirement some eight years ago. She enjoyed crocheting afghans for various charities and loved to prepare feasts for her family and friends. Everyone who knew Lolee, called her "Mom" as she was so loving and caring. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Mrs. Cassese is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Phillip "Poppy" R. Cassese; her son, Gerard F. Cassese and his fiancé Kathi Andrews of Lewes; her daughter Jody M. Cassese of Harbeson; three grandchildren: Carly, Joseph and Gerard Andrew Cassese; her brother, Drew Russo and wife Rose of Calabash, N.C.; her sister, Patricia Davis of Staten Island, N.Y.; and her chocolate Labrador Max.

A Catholic Prayer Service will held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 9,  at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes. Interment will follow at Henlopen Memorial Park, 28787 Lockerman Road, Milton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, Feb. 8, and again at 9:30 a.m., Saturday.
