George Harvey Riley Jr., retired bank manager

George Harvey Riley Jr., 78, of Lewes, passed away peacefully Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. He was born in Baltimore, Md., Jan. 31, 1935, son of the late George Harvey Riley Sr. and Mildred Elizabeth (Eckert) Riley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth Riley and Donald Riley.

Mr. Riley worked for Maryland National Bank in Towson, Md. until 1980 when her retired as branch manager. Before relocating to the Lewes area in 1991, for 10 years he served as administrator of the Potomac Valley Nursing and Wellness Center in Rockville, Md.

Mr. Riley is survived by his life partner, James R. Cosgrove of Lewes; Mr. Cosgrove's son and grandson, Michael Cosgrove and Logan Cosgrove, respectively, both of Milton; two sisters: Janet Haigley of Cockeysville, Md. and Betty Batchelor of Hydes, Md.; and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held in April. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Fresenius Medical Care, 20699 Coastal Highway 3, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
