Rehoboth businesses offer sweet specials during chocolate festival weekend March 1-3

The 23rd Annual Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival will be held Saturday, March 2, at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center.  It’s not only a day for chocolate lovers to gather, it's a day of fun for the whole family.  Rehoboth businesses are cooking up some sweet specials for visitors to enjoy all weekend long.

From restaurants and spas offering chocolate-themed specials, to businesses offering discounts, there will be something for everyone to enjoy March 1-3. The Boardwalk Plaza Hotel and Bewitched and BEDazzled B&Bs will offer Chocolate Festival weekend specials.

Starting Friday night, restaurants such as Victoria’s, Cabo Modern Mexican Tequila Bar, Salt Air, Blue Moon, Eden, Planet X, Lupo di Mare, Hobos and Dos Locos will be cooking up special menu items and desserts for diners to enjoy. Chef Jay Caputo at Espuma will be offering a three-course chocolate menu paired with wines for $45, as well as some featured chocolate desserts, including the popular chocolate, chocolate, chocolate. Bad Hair Day? is offering a full chocolate-inspired spa menu, while Avenue Apothecary and Spa is offering treats such as a Chocolate Espresso Bliss Body Treatment, Chocolate Rose Decadence Facial and a Cookies and Milk Spa Manicure and Pedicure.  Oasis Wellness Spa will feature chocolate wine and chocolate-covered strawberries with any spa treatment.

Kilwin’s Rehoboth Avenue shop offers buy one-get one free on scoops of ice cream.  Snyder’s Candy will be offering 15 percent off all merchandise, while Cake Break and The Point will be baking special homemade treats all weekend.

Retailers such as Azura Clothing and Mark Showell Interiors will offer a free gift with purchase, while Something Comfortable and Hatley of Rehoboth Beach will be serving hot chocolate snugglers and offering great discounts on their winter merchandise. Lilypad Children’s Boutique, Blooming Boutique, Bed of Roses and the Sea Shell Shop will also offer special discounts for shoppers all weekend.

Tastings start at 11:30 a.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Chocolate Festival on Saturday.  Purchase tickets at the door, or avoid the lines by purchasing them in advance at the Rehoboth Beach Main Street office, Azura Clothing, the Boardwalk Plaza Hotel, Snyder’s Candy and Cake Break. Admission is only $2 and customers can buy as many tastes as they like for only 50 cents each. Children under age 5 get in free.

Cake Break, Kilwin’s of Rehoboth Avenue and others will be on hand at the festival for customers who want to make purchases. The Village Improvement Association will be selling home-baked delights, and Katie Freer of The Sprouting Chef will be cooking up a kid-themed fun activity.
