Grammy nominated rapper 2 Chainz was arrested in connection with drug charges Feb. 14 after a traffic stop for speeding in Easton, Md.

Maryland State Police stopped a 2013 Ford van speeding 79 mph in a 55 mph zone at about 9 p.m., according to a Maryland State Police press release.

Officers smelled a strong odor of burnt marijuana during the traffic stop; following a search of the car they found paraphernalia with trace amounts of marijuana, the press release states.

2 Chainz – whose birth name is Tauheed Epps, 35, of Georgia – was charged with possession of a controlled deadly substance and possession of paraphernalia. He was released on a citation.

According to news reports, 2 Chainz performed later that night at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore homecoming in Princess Anne, Md. He tweeted a photo of himself and two unidentified but smiling Maryland State Police troopers saying "Locked me up and then wanted pictures."
