Samuel Wilson, retired police officer

Samuel Glorioso Wilson, 76, of Frankford, formerly of Pasadena, Md., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Friday, Feb. 15, 2013.
He was born April 7, 1936, son of the late Ronald and Philomena (Glorioso) Wilson.  Sam retired as a Baltimore City police officer with 22 years of service, retired from BG&E as a new business consultant after 18 years of service and moved to Delaware 12 years ago.  
He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Janet Louise (Rosier) Wilson; a dear friend and cousin, Charles “Buc” Weaver; five daughters, Laura (Blaine) Kurrle, Christine Wilson and her companion James Tarburton, Elaine (Bernard) Brown, Mary (Edward) Bitner and Teresa Shiraldi; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Wilson; two granddaughters, Emily Bitner and Erica Beecher; two sisters, Lee Griffin and Kathryn Lee; and a brother, Robert Wilson.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Craig Wilson; a grandson, Matthew Claytor; and a brother, John Wilson.  
A memorial service will be held at noon, Saturday, Feb. 23, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View, where friends and family may call after 11 a.m.  Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Sam’s name to the Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center, PO Box 1704, Westminster, MD 21158.
