Milton to host St. Patrick's celebrations March 10

February 22, 2013

A new event will be part of the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Milton Sunday, March 10. For six years, Irish Eyes Pub & Restaurant has sponsored the St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The event began quite small with a few participants, along with some unfavorable weather conditions. But it has grown each year in size and spirit and community participation. It is now an event that should not be missed.

An added attraction for 2013 is the Lucky Leprechaun 5K Run/Walk. The event begins at noon at Irish Eyes. Registration begins at 11 a.m. at 105 Union St. For race details go to www.races2run.com.

An entry fee of $20 for preregistration and $25 the day of the race will support the Milton Chamber of Commerce programs. Everyone is welcome to participate. Irish Eyes has designated the Milton Chamber of Commerce as the beneficiary of the first race. All proceeds will support the community summer events sponsored by the chamber.

The tradition continues with the sixth annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which begins at 2 p.m. and proceeds through downtown Milton. Contact Irish Eyes Milton at 302-684-8889 to learn how to become a parade sponsor or participant. All parade proceeds benefit the Milton Fire Department Training Program, Casa San Francisco and Best Buddies Delaware.

For more information contact the Milton Chamber of Commerce at 302-684-1101 or Irish Eyes Milton at 302-684-8889.
