Richard L. Harbaugh, 72, of Broadkill Beach, Milton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013, at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes.
Richard was born in Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., son of the late Calvin and Mary Etta (McCleaf) Harbaugh.
He retired as supervisor of the die cutting epartment of Dee Paper Co., Chester, Pa., where he worked for 43 years.
Richard was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of VFW Post 6984 in Milton and American Legion Post 17 in Lewes.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by a sister: Linda Harbaugh' and brother: Harvey Harbaugh.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years: Carole (Dickey) Harbaugh; two children: Christine Montisano and husband Frank, and Richard Harbaugh Jr., and wife Michelle; three grandchildren: Calvin, Olivia and Lucas Harbaugh; five siblings: Fred, Gilbert and Shirley Harbaugh, Irene Lynch and Janet Kennedy; three stepchildren: Susan Clymer, John Smeyda and Patricia Bone; nine stepgrandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Conley’s U.M. Church, 33016 Jolyn’s Way, Lewes, with visitation after noon.
The family extends a special thank you for the care and concern shown them over the last several months by Beebe Medical Center, especially 5th floor staff and ICU.
The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to Beebe Medical Center, 424 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
