Charlotte L. Parsons, 77, of Millsboro, passed away in the loving care of her family at home Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013.
She was born in Clarksville, Jan. 22, 1936, to the late Charles E. and Nina E. Toomey Littleton. She was a high school graduate, and in 1954 she married her husband, Richard Parsons, with whom she enjoyed 56 years of marriage and raised six children.
She was owner/operator of small businesses, including Parson’s Sub Shop and Charlotte’s Ceramics. In addition, she sold insurance and also had worked at Village Green Florist. She was as hard-working woman who enjoyed gardening, yard sales and was an avid bingo player. She was a lovable woman who adored her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard in 2010; and a son, Alan Parsons in 2005. She is survived by her children: Jeffrey Parsons and wife Karen of Rehoboth, Randy Parsons and wife Billie Lynn of Milford, Wanda Layton and husband Ronnie of Seaford, Joe Parsons of Millsboro, and Linda Milam and husband Junior, also of Millsboro. She has one sister, Barbara Mitchell and her husband, Paul. There are 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, where friends may call after 11 a.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro. Pastor Robert Hudson will officiate, and interment follows at the Millsboro Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcomed.
