Rehoboth Concert Band says thanks

March 4, 2013

I would like to thank the public and the Cape Gazette for their overwhelming support of the Rehoboth Concert Band in its debut performance Feb. 16.  The Gazette has been helpful in getting the word out about the band since its inception last Fall, and continued to announce weekly rehearsals and the concert itself.

Such efforts undoubtedly helped to draw the impressive crowd of 250 who ventured out in the dismal weather to hear an unknown entity play in public for the first time. From the enthusiastic applause following the first tune to the instant standing ovation at the conclusion of the concert, the audience was generous and encouraging to the musicians and their conductor, Sharon Still.

As a flutist and a member on the band council, I feel the evening was a wonderful start to a program that promises to be a true asset to the community as the Rehoboth Concert Band looks forward to offering music to Coastal Delaware for many concerts to come.
