Opening reception March 16 at RAL
March 4, 2013

UPDATE » Young at Art show postponed until March 16

The Rehoboth Art League will host the annual Young at Art exhibit March 16 through 23 in the Corkran and Tubbs galleries at the league in Rehoboth Beach. Visual art in many mediums created by students from more than 25 Sussex County elementary, middle and high schools will be on exhibit over the two weeks. Students' work is judged, and ribbons, cash awards and scholarships are presented to winning artists.

This annual exhibit at the Rehoboth Art League is an opportunity for the schools of Sussex County to recognize all the wonderful artwork being created by their students. In addition to first-, second- and third-place prizes for elementary, middle and high school students, one student in each school will be awarded a Derrickson Scholarship.

The scholarships are awarded to creative school-age students interested in art to attend Rehoboth Art League classes of their choice including any materials fee. This year the RAL will also be offering a free portfolio review in collaboration with Salisbury University for high school art students.

The Young at Art exhibition will open with a reception from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16.  Awards will be presented at 11 a.m. The exhibit will be on display through Friday, March 23. The reception is free and the public is invited to attend.
