Pauline M. Dukes, vaccinated chickens

Mrs. Pauline M. Dukes, 90, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, Feb. 25, 2013.

Pauline was born April 9, 1922, in Willards, Md. to the late Larry and Stella Hill Cooper. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Arvil Dukes in 1988.

 

She worked in the poultry business vaccinating chickens for Allen’s and Cargill. She was a member of Hickory Hill United Methodist Church and the LIFT group. She enjoyed going to the Atlantic Shores Nursing Home with the LIFT ladies and helping the residents play bingo.

 

She is survived by a son, Wayne Dukes and his wife Linda, and granddaughter Kelley Dukes, all of Dagsboro; sisters-in-law Catherine “Teen” Justice of Dagsboro and Pauline “Peg” Clogg of Gumboro; half-sister Pat Hudson of Nelsonia, Va.; and a half brother Buddy Cooper of Mayport, Fla.

 

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 2, at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call after noon. Burial will follow at Millsboro Cemetery. Pastor Thomas Starnes will officiate.

 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hickory Hill United Methodist Church, C/O Roy Rogers, 28209 Walt Carmean Lane, Millsboro, DE 19966.
