March 7, 2013

Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary has been selected as a partner in the No More Homeless Pets Network, a program of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary.

Each year more than 4,000,000 cats and dogs are needlessly put to death  in U.S. shelters. This network focuses on working with other rescue organizations and municipal shelters all across the country to end the killing of dogs and cats in shelters.

Safe Haven Executive Director Cindy Woods has partnered with the Best Friends organization over several years and completed Safe Haven’s application. “It is an honor to be recognized by the acknowledged leader in the no-kill movement. As part of the Best Friends No More Homeless Pets Network, Safe Haven hopes to help lead the way toward a no-kill state where all pets have a loving home,” she said.

As a member of this network, Safe Haven has access to expertise and assistance from Best Friends and other member organizations to assist in Safe Haven’s no-kill efforts. Safe Haven is totally committed to the no-kill ethic for all cats and dogs in Delaware.
