Richard G. Rodgers, Dewey entrepreneur

Richard Gerald Rodgers, 62, a lifelong resident of Rehoboth and Dewey Beach, passed away Saturday, Feb. 16, 2013.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Janet M. Greenwell; and his parents, Joseph Paul Sr. and Blanche M. Rodgers.

Richard loved the ocean and was a member of the 1968 Surf Shop East Team. In the 1980s he started a successful business in Dewey Beach called Naturally Hot, Hot Tubs. Richard loved fishing, traveling and experiencing nature.

He is survived by his three siblings, Joseph Paul Rodgers Jr., Michele A. Rodgers-Russo and Michael Kelly Rodgers.

A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware SPCA’s Georgetown Shelter, 22918 DuPont Blvd,. Georgetown, DE 19947; specify for dog yards.
