Ladies of Pocahontas support Georgetown playground plans

March 9, 2013

Georgetown Playground Committee members were invited to meet the Ladies of Pocahontas Feb. 21 to receive a donation of $1,000. Pocahontas members were generous in their support as they worked with the committee and the town to provide playground facilities in Georgetown for all children to enjoy.

At the presentation are in back (l-r) Grand Pocahontas Mary Ellen Grinolds, Third Warrior; Trustee Debbie Hearn; Trustee Patsy Moore;  Collector of Wampum Pat VanAuken; Councilman Bill West; Keeper of Records Lynda Wright; Budget Member at Large Agnes Murphy;  Wenonah Trudy Kruger;  and Journal Clerk Pat Rust.  In front are Georgetown Playground Committee members Chris Lecates, Prophetess Becky Breasure, Linda Thompson and Bo Shockley.

The Degree of Pocahontas Anona Council No. 11 meets at the Red Men's Lodge Nanticoke Tribe No. 21 at 7 p.m., the third Tuesday of each month.

The Georgetown Playground Committee welcomes donations to provide a fun, safe play area for the community. Donations can be sent to or dropped off at Town Hall. Checks may be made out to "Town of Georgetown" with playground written in the memo section. Any and all donations are appreciated.
