February 2013 Real Estate Market Watch

The real estate market in Sussex County, Delaware is off to a good start in 2013, trying to keep pace with a strong year in 2012.

Overall sales of single-family homes in the county were down a bit compared to last year through February, from 261 in 2012 to 236 for this year. However, the average sales price and median sales prices are up. Inventory is starting to increase a bit, and many indicators are pointing to another strong year in sales of homes. It looks like we are approaching what experts call a "normal" market, one where it is advantageous for both buyers and sellers.
