Linda Marion Blyth, pillar of community

Linda Marion Blyth, 60, formerly Linda Fletcher, of Clayton, passed away at St. Francis Hospital in Wilmington, Thursday March 7, 2013, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Mrs. Blyth was born July 15, 1952, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of Robert Sleva of Milford and Marion Juniewicz Marvel of Milford.

She worked for many years for Dr. Donlick in Clayton.

Linda enjoyed going to the beach, riding and caring for horses. She also enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. However, her greatest joy was spending time with her family; especially her grandsons.

Linda was known to be a pillar of the Smyrna-Clayton community and was loved by many; no person was a stranger to her. She was a very warm and social person.

She is survived by her loving husband, Howard; two sons, Travis Fletcher of Greenville, N.C. and Keith Fletcher of Smyrna; her daughter, Lindsay Thompson and her husband, William of Pittsboro, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Natalie Blyth of Bromley Kent, England; a stepson, Ian Blyth of Palo Alto, Pa.; her stepmother, Jean Sleva of Milford; her sister, Diane Lynch and her husband, Greg of Milford; her brother, Bob Sleva and his wife, Jodie of Milford; three grandchildren, Travis, Kellen, and Elliott; and three stepgrandchildren, Christian, Oliver, and Cameron.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 S. Main St. Smyrna, where friends may call at 9 a.m.

Burial will be in the Milford Community Cemetery in Milford.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702-B Kirkwood Hwy., Wilmington, DE 19805.
