A 17-year-old Lewes boy was charged March 11 in connection with making a false 911 call for a fire in Milton.

Firefighters with the Lewes Fire Department went to a home on Whites Neck Way about 8:30 p.m. Jan. 2, but there was no fire or emergency at the address, said Randall W. Lee, chief deputy fire marshal.

Investigators discovered the boy was a junior member of the Lewes Fire Department; the boy was charged with falsely reporting an incident and released to the custody of his parents pending a Family Court hearing.
