Hiker strikes out from Lewes headed for California

Ryan Herrmann and his sidekick, Shotgun, struck out from Cape Henlopen State Park on March 1 walking along the American Discovery Trail route which stretches from the Cape park to Point Reyes State Park in California.

Herrmann said he is hiking to raise awareness for a young girl in his area who has epilepsy. Money raised will help Annie Luebke pay for medical bills and help fund education about the disease.
