Nellie M.T. Turner Daisey, Eastern Star member

Nellie M. T. Turner Daisey, 95, died peacefully at Seasons Hospice, Christiana Hospital Wednesday, March 13, 2013. After a long and fulfilling life she was prepared to join her loved ones in heaven. Born in Harrington, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Nettie Turner.

Nellie was predeceased by her husband of over 40 years, James; daughter Frances of Vernal, Utah; granddaughter Dana of Vernal; sisters Irene of Lewes, Bette of Columbia, Md. and Doris of Wilmington.

She is survived by her daughters Barbara Norton of Newark and Betty Jean Daisey-Moses (Francis) of Wilmington. She is also survived by her granddaughter Joanna Crouch (Dale) of North East, Md.; grandsons Bill Bedell (Donna) of West Valley City, Utah, Frank Atwood of Vernal and Bruce Atwood of Vernal; nephew H. Edward Maull (Peggy) of Lewes, and their daughters; also her nephew William Warren of Bear; nieces Judy Warren of Wilmington, and her son, and Sharon Hoeflinger (David) of Bear, and their daughter and sons.

A stay at-home-mother when her children were young, she later worked for Cappeau’s Drugstore. She was a member of the Eastern Star and enjoyed reading and playing bridge. Funeral services and internment will be private.

All services are private. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Newark United Methodist Church, 69 East Main St., Newark, DE 19711.
