Pop Warner announces 2012-13 All-American Scholars

Cape Vikings Pop Warner Football and Cheer will hold 2013 registration from 8 a.m. to noon, Sunday, April 7, at the Greene Turtle in Lewes. Boys and girls ages 5 to 13 can sign up for football or cheer.

A new Tiny Mite age bracket for boys and girls ages 5-7 will be available for the first time this season. The Tiny Mite division for football and cheer will take all registrations. The older age brackets, ages 7 to 13, allow for 35 players maximum for football and 25 for cheer before a waiting list occurs. The 2013 season's first practice is Aug. 1.

Cape Vikings Pop Warner congratulates all 2012-13 Pop Warner All-American Scholars. This year, nearly 9,200 applications were submitted to the Pop Warner national office. Cape Vikings has 32 student athletes on this year’s team. These student athletes achieved a 96 percent or higher grade point average for the entire school year ending in 2012.

The 2012-13 Cape Vikings All-American Scholars are: Owen Allen, Jacob Crenshaw, Andre Currie, Jack Dawson, James Fleegle, Hunter Simmons Caden Smith, Devin Stark, Robert White, Deven Wilson, Connor Dorney, Jackson Handlin, Felix Harmon, Mark Knestaut, Robert Lyle, Broderick McMahon, Anthony Perotta, Matthew Perry, Gian Singh, Cayden Steele, James Walsh, Benjamin Weathersby, Isaac Weathersby, Reilly Hutchison, Elizabeth Clark, Elizabeth Finnegan, Kayla Horn, Hannah Lewis, Leela Lyle, Jasmine Mayo, Faith Palmer, Juliann Webb and Mackenzie Smith.
