Epworth celebrates service of Rev. Jonathan Baker

March 27, 2013

On March 17, friends, family and parishioners celebrated the service of Rev. Jonathan Baker at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach.

Baker served the church twice for a total of 19 years during his 40 year career.

He and his wife, Donna, announced their retirement last month, effective April 1. The couple plans to spend time with family and work on global mission projects.

"We now have to share him with the world," said Epworth lay pastor Thom Pemberton.

During the celebration, a posse of clowns celebrated Grace Note, the clown portrayed by Donna Baker during her time at Epworth. Three clowns presented gifts to the Bakers.

Shown are Donna and Jonathan Baker, seated, as “Earth Song” played by Loretta Smith presents a gift.
