Norman 'Bill' Stewart, retired safety director

Norman W. "Bill" Stewart III, 63, of Millsboro, passed away Monday, March 11, 2013.

Bill was born in Manchester, Conn., Nov. 6, 1949, to the late Pauline and Norman Stewart Jr. Bill recently retired as safety director for Ryder Trucking in Atlanta, Ga. and Memphis, Tenn. He was an active member of the AmVets Post 2, American Legion Post 28, and Delaware Patriot Guard Riders in Millsboro. Bill was a former member of the Mechanicsburg Club and American Legion Post 109 in Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Janice (Fetrow) at home; his son Paul of Ohio; and his daughters Norma Parker and Reené Pierce of West Virginia; along with four grandchildren, Mackenzie and Ian Parker and Ilana and Ava Stewart. He also had four stepdaughters, Jody Hoffman, Jill Murray, Joann Sharp and Jenifer Fallor; along with 10 stepgrandchildren, Eliot and Wyatt Hoffman, Matt and Garrett Murray, Trevor, Eva and Olivia Sharpe, and Meghan, Andy and Amanda Fallor.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, April 5, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro. A social gathering will follow the service at AmVets, also in Millsboro.
