Milton BoA March 26 meeting canceled

The Milton Board of Adjustment meeting scheduled for March 26 has been canceled due to a lack of agenda items. For more information, call town hall at 302-684-4110.

Milton planning commission to meet

The Milton Planning & Zoning Commission will meet at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, at the Milton Public Library. On the agenda is a preliminary site plan review and approval of Chestnut Properties’ plan to construct an underground propane tank field in Phase 2B of Cannery Village near the clubhouse.

The group will also discuss Fernmoor Homes’ request for a preliminary subdivision plan review and approval of Phase 3 of Heritage Creek. Finally, the commission will consider a conditional-use application from Paul Garchinsky, who plans to sell historical and modern firearms on the internet from a home located on Mainsail Lane.

Milton charter committee to meet

The Milton Charter & Ordinance Committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 19, at the Milton Public Library. Members will discuss a draft of an ordinance regarding the town’s fee schedule. For more information, go to milton.delaware.gov.

Community Resource Center to be dedicated

The Community Resource Center, located at 37510 Oyster House Road in Rehoboth Beach, has scheduled a Grand Opening and Dedication at its new facility between 1 and 3 p.m., Saturday, March 23, with the dedication set for 2 p.m.  The public is invited to attend. The Community Resource Center is a ministry of the Lewes-Rehoboth Association of Churches comprising 20 member churches in the Rehoboth, Lewes and Milton areas.

he center opened in April 2011 to serve vulnerable individuals and families in the Cape Henelopen School District. Since its opening the center has assisted more than 3,400 individuals and families, including emergency housing, utilities, transportation, medical care and long-term housing assistance.

Since opening the center has sponsored a health fair, budget, free flu shots from the Delaware Department of Health and homeless assistance in cooperation with Connections.
