Photo Beach Bash comes into focus

Coastal Camera Club's first event a real smash
March 23, 2013

Coastal Camera Club Vice President George Evancho saw his idea become a reality during the first Photo Beach Bash March 13 at the Atlantic Sands Hotel in Rehoboth Beach. Of course, it took a little assistance from his friends as more than 50 camera club members helped plan the day-long event, which drew more than 350 people.

Beach Bash featured a photo exhibit, critiques by professional photographers and vendors, highlighted by presentations by four photographers: Kevin Fleming and Tony Pratt, two well-known award-winning local photographers; Ed Heaton of Chester County, Pa.; and Rick Sammon, a Canon Explorer of Light photographer.

"The response has been overwhelmingly positive," said Coastal Camera Club President Leslie Sinclair. "The goal of the event was to bring together people who share our love for photography."

The club has grown to more than 150 members. For more information, go to coastalcameraclub.com.
