Velma A. Davidson, retired Beebe nurse

Velma A. Davidson, 94, of Lewes, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood.

She was born in rural Laurel, July 30, 1918. She was the daughter of the late Florence M. and Daniel W. Stauffer from Laurel. She graduated as valedictorian from Laurel High School in 1936 and Rudemar Beauty Culture School in Philadelphia, Pa. in 1937. At age 47 she became a licensed practical nurse and worked in Beebe Hospital.

Velma traveled extensively in the United States, Mexico, Canada and many European countries, including Russia.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Joseph V. Davidson of Lewes; a son, Timothy J. Davidson of Lewes; and daughter, Carolyn R. Doolittle of Georgetown.

Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family.
